Newsmax TV Legal Analyst: Don't Rush to Judgment in Toddler Case

Newsmax TV legal analyst Michelle Suskauer weighs in on high-profile court cases, including double-amputee Olympian Oscar Pistorius, former exchange student Amanda Knox, a California nanny who refused to leave her former employer’s home, and others.

The public should be wary of rushing to judgment in the case of a Georgia father charged with murder for leaving his toddler in a hot car for seven hours while the father went to work, she says on "America's Forum."

There are reports that both the father and mother previously did Internet searches on the subject of leaving a child in a hot car.

"Remember a little case called Casey Anthony, where there were … Internet searches regarding chloroform and a death using chloroform or knocking a child out with that," she recalled, noting that Anthony was acquitted in the death of her toddler Caylee, whose body was found in Anthony’s trunk.

"There is no presumption of innocence in the press," Suskauer said.
