As the race to expand cryptocurrency mining and artificial intelligence infrastructure accelerates across the United States, Michael Zuccarelli, co-founder of Terra Hosting, told Newsmax on Tuesday that states like Georgia and Indiana are leading the charge — offering ideal conditions for growth.
Zuccarelli joined Newsmax's "National Report" to react to news that Nasdaq-listed bitcoin miner CleanSpark announced plans to raise $1.15 billion through a senior convertible note offering to expand its bitcoin mining and AI data center operations, particularly in Georgia.
"States like Georgia, Indiana, where I'm at, they have these riders and incentives to build data centers in these rural areas that have an abundance of power," Zuccarelli said. "Not many people live there, so we bring economy to this area.
"It's really nice."
Zuccarelli explained that these regions' low population density, affordable energy, and pro-business policies have made them attractive to crypto mining and AI-driven data center developers seeking long-term stability and room to scale.
"In places like Indiana ... they're looking to these rural areas because they don't want to bother local populations and maybe build a town around it, kind of like what Riot Blockchain did, where they have over a gigawatt of energy," Zuccarelli said.
The Terra Hosting executive said the emerging convergence of AI computing and digital asset infrastructure will drive the next wave of American tech investment, particularly under policies encouraging advanced manufacturing and energy innovation.
"The AI play is going to be big," Zuccarelli said. "A lot of companies are getting into it. And with this administration, it's going to be pretty awesome."
