Conservative commentator Michael Reagan tells Newsmax that if former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush doesn't perform well in the first Republican presidential debate Thursday night it will devastate his campaign.
"Bush will throw a couple of shots at [Donald] Trump because he's the reason that Bush is down, so he's got to find a way to bring himself back up," Reagan told J.D. Hayworth and Miranda Khan on "Newsmax Prime" on
Newsmax TV on Thursday.

"Everybody talks about Donald Trump, a lot of pressure on Donald Trump. There's more pressure tonight on Bush than there ever will be pressure on Trump at this point and time," he explained.
"Tonight needs to be Bush's night and if it's not, he could be gone by morning," he added.
The oldest son of former President Ronald Reagan also said that Bush needs to get ahold of some his recent gaffes.
In an interview on Monday,
Bush said that he supports defunding Planned Parenthood and that he's not sure "we need half a billion dollars for women's health issues."
Bush clarified the statement, but he also drew criticism from Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton and others for the comments.
"He's spending a lot of time recovering from his gaffes, and he needs to put a stop to that if he really wants to go forward in a presidential sweepstakes," Reagan said.
"I don't know what the problem is, but he's got to stop it, and he's got to stop it soon," he added.
