Veteran political commentator Michael Reagan says the much-awaited inspector general report, which found former FBI Director James Comey "insubordinate" in his handling of the Hillary Clinton email, will change absolutely nothing in Washington.
"What bothers me is the fact that at the end of the day, the people that hate Trump are still going to hate Trump and the people that love Trump are still going to love Trump and it's not going to go anywhere," Reagan, the son of former President Ronald Reagan, said Friday on Newsmax TV's "America Talks Live."
"None of this ever goes anywhere. It becomes a political football, a political argument … But I am absolutely offended by what the FBI did here and the games that they played, at the top ranks of the FBI."

While the IG report criticized Comey and others in the Clinton investigation, it emphasized that the ex-agency chief showed no outward signs of political bias. However, the report bared a text message from FBI agent Peter Strzok in which he vowed to stop Trump from winning the presidential election.
"This is what's so maddening … that nobody's going to be held accountable for this," Reagan told Newsmax hosts Miranda Khan, John Cardillo and Gina Loudon.
"You had an FBI that was hell-bent on making sure that Donald Trump did not become president of the United States and then became hell-bent on trying to find a way to impeach Donald Trump as president of the United States," Reagan said.
He added: "Comey should be in jail … and many of the other FBI agents involved in this should be in jail."
Reagan is the author of "Lessons My Father Taught Me: The Strength, Integrity, and Faith of Ronald Reagan," written with Jim Denney and published by Humanix Books.
