Americans should not worry that President-elect Donald Trump is executive producer of "The Celebrity Apprentice" on NBC — as long as "all of the boats are floating" while he is in the White House, political commentator Michael Reagan told Newsmax TV on Friday.
"He is a businessman, so things are going to be different," the eldest son of former President Ronald Reagan told "The Steve Malzberg Show" in an interview.
"This is not the business-as-usual that we normally had in Washington, D.C.," he added. "This is business as business. That's what it is.
"People need to come to grips with the fact that he is a businessman. He does have outside sources. He's got hotels all over the world, businesses all over the world — and he's got a television show, 'The Celebrity Apprentice.'
"Listen, as long as he is successful for you and for me and the rest of this country and all of the boats are floating, I don't think people are going to care what he's doing," Reagan said.
"If, indeed, they are not floating the boats for everybody and he is successful in business, then he will only last four years."
