Sen. Mullin to Newsmax: 'Shocked' Legacy Media Trying Hard to Break Laws

By    |   Monday, 04 November 2024 12:28 PM EST

Sen. Markwayne Mullin, R-Okla., told Newsmax on Sunday that he's "shocked" that legacy media outlets are apparently willing to "break the laws" in an effort to promote Vice President Kamala Harris ahead of Election Day.

NBC's "Saturday Night Live" originally said it was not going to have either Harris or former President Donald Trump make cameos this year so as not to violate election laws. However, Harris, the Democrat presidential nominee, appeared on the sketch comedy show Saturday night — just days before the 2024 presidential election.

"First of all, going back to what NBC ['SNL' network] did last night, and then you have CBS — CBS is being sued by Donald Trump for what they did for Kamala Harris by changing her answers," Mullin told Newsmax, referring to an interview Harris did with the latter network.

"NBC, obviously, that's an FCC [Federal Communications Commission] violation there. I'm shocked that they're actually trying this hard to break the laws, because it's evident that some people are going to be sued after this."

On the other hand, Mullin said, Harris doesn't have much of a platform to run on as she seeks to win the Oval Office on Tuesday.

"What can she run on, though?" he said. "When we start talking about what she's done, she's broke it. That's all she's done. She's literally broke the country and Donald Trump's the only one that's going to fix it.

"So, she can't run on any legacy legislation, she can't run on her record of what she's done to bring the country together or to move the country forward, she has to just go on and do these stunts. And it's either talking about President Trump or talking about growing up in the middle class, but she can't run on her record."
