Rep. Louie Gohmert, R-Texas, told Newsmax TV on Friday that just as he survived the coronavirus, so will President Donald Trump, who announced his positive diagnosis earlier in the day.
Gohmert told "National Report" on Friday that although he has not spoken with Trump since the announcement, the congressman does "know he’s getting the best medical care and advice, and I feel quite certain, as he’s recommended, the hydroxychloroquine regimen seems to minimize the symptoms, it certainly did for me."
The congressman added that he "was asymptomatic when I was tested, which was a terrific help, and I also think that bodes well for the president and first lady, because I tested positive so soon before I had any symptoms … I think that helped me start the HCQ regimen, lots of zinc, and vitamin D, and all that so quickly. I think that really did minimize my symptoms."
