Liz Harrington to Newsmax: Trump Wants to 'Win at the Ballot Box'

By    |   Friday, 26 January 2024 07:05 PM EST

Liz Harrington, former President Donald Trump's campaign spokesperson, spoke to Newsmax on Friday, stating, "He just wants to win at the ballot box and have the people be heard. It's very clear that the people do want President Trump."

Harrington asserted on the "The Chris Salcedo Show" that Trump's victories in Iowa and New Hampshire demonstrated broad support and thwarted efforts to undermine his campaign.

"He made historic victories not just in Iowa but also breaking the record in New Hampshire when they had all these dirty tricks going on, propping up Nikki Haley with Democrats, Democrat voters, and Democrat donors," Harrington said.

She dismissed the former South Carolina governor's chances, stating, "President Trump will show everybody that he doesn't need any special favors. He just needs the American people who want to put him back in the White House."

In the Iowa caucuses, Trump secured 51% of support, marking a 30-point lead over Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, who trailed with 21%. Haley landed in third place with 19%, according to CBS News.

The former president's success extended to New Hampshire, where Trump garnered 173,392 votes in the state's primary, surpassing the previous record of Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont. Sanders had won 152,193 votes in the 2016 Democratic primary, as reported by Newsweek.

Trump's victory in New Hampshire was not a singular achievement; he had previously secured the state's Republican primary in 2020 and 2016, progressively increasing his vote count each time.

Trump's 2020 primary vote count of 129,734 adds to his list of accomplishments, making him the holder of two of the three highest winning vote counts in New Hampshire presidential primary contests.
