President Barack Obama lacks the communications skills to effectively explain his policies to the American people, according to lawyer Lanny Davis, a former special counsel to President Bill Clinton.
"[He has] very good polices in many respects, including Obamacare," Davis said Wednesday on the "Steve Malzberg Show" on
Newsmax TV.
"But he doesn't do the kind of communication skills that I know he has, which is very hard to understand because he got reelected president because he was such a great communicator."

Davis referenced the legendary "fireside chats" President Franklin D. Roosevelt delivered on radio during the Great Depression.
"He communicated directly to the American people and helped explain to them what they were going through," Davis said.
What disappoints me [about Obama] is that this brilliant man, who really does have great communicating skills, hasn't sat down and explained to the American people … what's going on with ISIS? Who are they? What's the threat? What are we going to do about it?
"The same thing with the Ebola scare that so many people are fearful of. We'd like our president to talk to us. It's a form of criticism that's constructive because he really is a good communicator, he just doesn't use the bully pulpit."
