Katrina Pierson on Kavanaugh: Dems Think 'The Sky Is Falling'

Democrats are inexplicably freaking out over the nomination of Judge Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court, Katrina Pierson, who served as the national spokesperson for Donald Trump's presidential campaign, told Newsmax TV on Tuesday.

"I think [the nomination is] fantastic," Pierson told "America Talks Live," adding Democrats are "apoplectic about the pick."

"Which is really strange to me because Judge Kavanaugh is really a mainstream, highly credentialed originalist, textualist — and I can't figure out why the sky is falling.

"I think this is great for the courts simply because to have someone there that is actually going to interpret the law."

And while confirmation hearings will likely be contentious, Pierson is confident Kavanaugh is a shoo-in.

"The people are on the side of the president, they voted for him . . . and I don't see any problem with [Kavanaugh] being confirmed by October," said Pierson, who is now a senior adviser for the Trump 2020 campaign.

Kavanaugh, 53, would replace retiring Justice Anthony Kennedy for whom he was once a law clerk.
