World leaders must formulate a no-nonsense war plan against the Islamic State (ISIS) if the radical jihadist group is ever to be defeated, says former Navy SEAL and FBI agent Jonathan Gilliam.

"[We need] forward movement and an organized war plan," Gilliam said Tuesday to Rick Ungar, guest host of "The Steve Malzberg Show" on Newsmax TV.

"There is no organized war plan … [With] pinpoint bombing or tactical bombing, in order to gain a strategic advantage, you have to have a strategic plan for that to work."

Gilliam, president of U.S. Continued Service, which helps employ military veterans, said inaction by the United States itself has already led to the fall of Yemen.

"Yemen is huge because if the Iranians get a bigger footprint there, they surround Saudi Arabia. If Saudi Arabia fell to Yemen it would cause the whole region to fall," he said.
