Former White House Chief of Staff John Sununu told Newsmax TV on Wednesday "there's handful of folks at the top" at the FBI who were "mucking around . . . to undermine the election process in the United States" with the Russia investigation.
"It's unbelievable what was going on amongst the leadership of the FBI," Sununu, 78, the former New Hampshire Republican governor who served former President George H.W. Bush, told "Newsmax Now" host Bill Tucker in an interview.
"While the good men and women of the FBI were doing good work, there's handful of folks at the top were mucking around.
"I think that's an appropriate word — "mucking around" — in a way to undermine the election process in the United States by figuring what they called, at one point, 'an insurance policy' and gathering after the election."
