"Morning Joe" hosts Mika Brzezinski and Joe Scarborough tell Newsmax
that they are "very transparent" on the MSNBC morning show, but that's part of the success of the program.
"We don't have teleprompters," Scarborough told J.D. Hayworth on "America's Forum" on Tuesday.
"We sort of sketch out a general idea of where we go, but we go on, the cameras turn on at 6 a.m., they turn off at 9 a.m. and we just go," the former Florida congressman explained.

"The show works because it's like sitting around the table and sometimes I say things that make sense and sometimes I don't. Sometimes I go over the line, and sometimes I have to apologize to Mika," he added.
Brzezinski said, "We're very transparent about how we're feeling at any moment.
"I often joke about that I took my Ambien too late last night or whatever because sometimes I'm a little fuzzy in the morning or whatever," she explained.
"I literally talk about everything that goes on in my life.
"If we're feeling a certain way or if we're getting stressed out about an issue or if things are getting contentious on the set, the viewer will see it and once in a while we need to do a gut check on it, and we'll do that live too," she added.
Scarborough said that just like in politics, in television "if people know that you're just shooting straight . . . they're much more willing to be" forgiving when mistakes are made.
The Florida Republican, who served three terms in Congress, said in February 2014 that he "won't rule" out running for president, but he told Newsmax that he doesn't think it will happen.
"I think about getting back into public office on some of my more insane days," he said, adding that serving in public office "was a great honor."
