Republicans should beat Democrat Hillary Clinton in a "blowout" in the November presidential election, but this year's GOP nominee, Donald Trump, is "deeply flawed" himself, making that doubtful, former lobbyist Jack Abramoff tells
Newsmax TV.
Although Clinton herself has plenty of issues, including being under FBI investigation for her use of a private email server as secretary of state and the Clinton Foundation taking money from countries that oppress women and gays, Trump himself can't beat her easily, he said Monday on "The Steve Malzberg Show."
Had any of the other 16 GOP candidates won the nomination, "this would be a sprint to the finish line and we'd probably have a massive blowout," Abramoff said. "She's a terrible candidate."

Not only is Clinton dogged by "corruption" issues, she's also incompetent, he said.
"She was an incompetent secretary of state. She was an incompetent senator. And, frankly, she was an incompetent first lady in the sense that she meddled into policy," he told Malzberg. "She's not a competent public servant."
While that should have Republicans "marching to victory" in November,
"unfortunately, the Republican candidate has flaws, deep flaws, and I guess the Republicans are hoping that they're able to overcome these," he said. "But what should be a blowout election is going to turn into, at least we hope, a squeaker."
It also could end in a Clinton victory, he said.
Republicans have to hope Trump's machine "gets smoother" so he can engineer a victory, Abramoff said.
The Clintons deploy "massive amounts of ill-gotten money and corrupt money" in their efforts to win, he said.
They'll also have the mainstream media on their side, he said, which is predominantly "far left wing."
"These people have constantly been in the tank for the Democrats," Abramoff said. "That goes back to the days of Reagan."
