Muslims around the world are denouncing the growing terrorist elements of their religion such as the Islamic State (ISIS), according to political comedian and lawyer Dean Obeidallah, a columnist for The Daily Beast.
"Mainstream Muslims are denouncing terrorism but not everyone's hearing it and that's part of the challenge," Obeidallah told Rick Ungar, guest host of "The Steve Malzberg Show" on

"The idea that Muslims just began to denounce terrorism is just factually inaccurate … Since 9/11, I've seen Muslims denounce it."
Obeidallah made the observation during a panel discussion with M. Zuhdi Jasser, founder and president of the American Islamic Forum for Democracy, who doesn't believe enough is being done by mainstream Muslims.
"We need a 12-step program as a Muslim community — our leadership is in profound denial as to the root causes of these radicalizations," Jasser said.
"The bottom line is we're learning from ISIS what really happens in Islamic states."
