Former Fox News host Greta Van Susteren said she had a "rude awakening" when she began to write her recently-released book on social media.
"When I started to write it, I thought I knew everything about social media, and then I had a rather rude awakening," Van Susteren told Newsmax TV's John Bachman. "I had to learn so much, and so I spent a lot of time learning as I wrote it."
Van Susteren's new book is "Everything You Need to Know about Social Media: Without Having to Call A Kid." In it she details how to navigate social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram and Snapchat.

Social media was "here to stay," she maintained, and explained adults needed to learn how to navigate that world.
"It's here to stay, so we've got to learn how to use it, how to conquer it and to avoid some of the bad parts about it," she said. "Social media is a wonderful way to reach around the world … It's so immediate. It lets people see things for themselves."
