Rev. Graham to Newsmax: Only Jesus Offers Truth

By    |   Friday, 03 April 2026 05:47 PM EDT

The Rev. Franklin Graham told Newsmax on Friday that the resurrection of Jesus Christ offers the only true answer to a world marked by confusion, deception, and unrest.

Graham, president and CEO of Samaritan's Purse and the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, is set to deliver his annual Easter special from the Minneapolis–St. Paul area.

He said he chose the Twin Cities following a year of turmoil there, aiming to bring a message of hope where it is most needed.

"There was so much turmoil this past year out of that area, and I thought it would be a good place to just share the hope that we have in Jesus Christ," Graham said on "The Record With Greta Van Susteren."

Graham drew a parallel between today's environment — shaped by artificial intelligence, media spin, and misinformation — and the biblical moment when Pontius Pilate asked Jesus, "What is truth?"

"He was staring truth right in the eye, and he just missed it," Graham said.

He added that many people, particularly younger people, are searching for truth amid what he described as a chaotic and uncertain world.

Despite describing the world as "in a mess" and "upside down," Graham pointed to God's love and the message of Easter as the foundation of hope.

He said Jesus came not to condemn, but to save — dying for humanity's sins and rising again on the third day.

"Jesus is not dead. He's alive, and he'll come into a person's heart, and he'll change that life," Graham said.

Graham also emphasized that neither individuals nor governments can solve the world's deepest problems.

"Nobody can fix this stuff. It's beyond any one person to fix," he said. "Only God can fix it."

He added that change begins on a personal level through repentance and faith.

"If we repent and turn from our sins, that's where it begins," he said, "in each individual heart."

Graham's Easter special, featuring Christian musician Michael W. Smith, archived performances by Johnny Cash and Charlie Daniels, and a message from Graham, will air Sunday at 4 p.m. Eastern time on Newsmax.
