Characterizing the situation in Ferguson, Missouri as a “powder keg” and saying that “the community is preparing for the worse” is hyping the potential for violence, Media Research Center Vice President Dan Gainor said Wednesday on
Newsmax TV's “America’s Forum.”
A grand jury is considering whether to indict a white Ferguson police officer in the shooting death of an unarmed black teen on Aug. 9.
“Their definition of 'worse' is pretty different because I'm from Baltimore and Baltimore burned in the '68 riots, but thousands of people weren't killed,” he said. “It didn't look like Hurricane Katrina. There's always something worse. The media exaggerated and they're hyping it very much like you would see before a big game in the NFL.”
