With President Barack Obama's
approval ratings at record lows, some of his supporters are blaming "fear-mongering" by the right, Fox News Channel's
Bill O'Reilly said Wednesday.
O'Reilly was having none of it, saying Americans are right to have fears over Ebola, terrorism and the bad economy.
"There will be no Ebola epidemic in America," he said, but added that the inept way the federal government reacted when Liberian national Thomas Eric Duncan brought the virus to America "should scare the hell out of everybody."
Some on the far left also are unconcerned with the Islamic State (ISIS), he said.
"It's over there. Why should we be afraid?" he said. "Tell that to the families of the two Canadian soldiers killed this week in their own country."
O'Reilly said Obama's supporters are putting up a "smokescreen" in "another lame attempt to divert attention away from the real problem: weak leadership."
