Arthur Engoron isn't a judge, he's a "political hack" put there by the Democratic Party to persecute former President Donald Trump, former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani said on Newsmax.
"That's why that law clerk next to him [Allison Greenfield] — when do you ever see a judge with a law clerk sitting on his lap? She is a Democratic Party operative," Giuliani asserted Thursday during an appearance on "American Agenda."
"Her employment is completely illegal and unethical; it violates every rule for a judicial employee.
"She's participated in politics and run for office and gets paid by the taxpayers."
Engoron in October issued a gag order on Trump after the former president shared on social media a photo of the judge's law clerk posing with U.S. Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., and falsely called her Schumer's girlfriend.
Trump's legal team and the office of New York Attorney General Letitia James on Thursday made closing arguments in a case accusing him of inflating his net worth to dupe banks. Kevin Wallace, a lawyer from her office, said Trump's company issued false financial statements every year between 2011 and 2021.
Giuliani said the case is a "fraud case without a loss."
"I've prosecuted some of the biggest frauds of the 20th century. I've never heard of a fraud case without a loss. This isn't a crime. It's true of all four cases against him. None of them are crimes. They're made up."
