Conservative author and filmmaker Dinesh D'Souza tells
Newsmax TV that liberal politicians see the rise of Islamic State (ISIS) as a distraction to their nefarious goal of looting the United States like bank robbers.
"Liberals are really busy about the business of stealing America, stealing the wealth of America. They're a little bit like bank robbers who are cleaning out a bank and they're taking all this money and putting it into bags and then along comes ISIS," D'Souza said Wednesday to Ric Blackwell on
Newsmax TV's "The Hard Line."

"You can see that from their point of view this is a nuisance, it's a distraction, they would rather not be bothered by it. This explains [President Barack] Obama's almost surreal behavior in response to ISIS. It almost appears like he was annoyed that he even had to bother with them."
D'Souza — author of
"Stealing America: What My Experience with Criminal Gangs Taught Me about Obama, Hillary, and the Democratic Party," published by Broadside — added:
"It is true that there's a certain degree of horse trading and sleazy business that is a staple of American politics. Politicians trading favors."
D'Souza, who in 2014 pleaded guilty to a charge of using "straw donors" to make illegal political campaign donations and was sentenced to eight months in a halfway house — believes he was prosecuted over his criticism of the Obama administration.
