Democrats are now publicly expressing a lack of "trust" in the FBI's supplemental investigation of 11th-hour allegations heaved at Judge Brett Kavanaugh, and conservative commentator Michael Reagan reveled in the irony, while lamenting it, Thursday on Newsmax TV.
"Isn't it interesting that [Thursday] the Democrats don't trust the FBI because of the report Kavanaugh?" Reagan, the son of former President Ronald Reagan, told "America Talks Live." "Now you've got the Republicans don't trust the FBI, [and] the Democrats don't trust the FBI, and we're supposed to trust who?"

Some of the same Democrats who had criticized President Donald Trump's questioning of the FBI's credibility are now questioning the thoroughness of the seventh background investigation into Supreme Court Justice-nominee Kavanaugh, which was called for by Democrats and negotiated in the Senate Judiciary Committee by anti-Trump Sen. Jeff Flake, R-Ariz.
"It's gotten to the point where nobody's trusting your government anymore," Reagan told hosts John Cardillo and John Bachman as he spoke about the subpoena of Justice Department documents related to Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein and the investigation into meddling in the 2016 presidential election.
"You have Rosenstein saying, 'I'll wear a wire,' and [then] he says, 'No, I didn't say that.' But you don't know he didn't say that because you have no trust."
