Former Amb. Danon to Newsmax TV: Allegations Against Israel 'Ridiculous'

By    |   Friday, 05 March 2021 04:13 PM EST

Israel’s former Ambassador to the United Nations Danny Danon told Newsmax TV on Friday that the allegations the International Criminal Court is investigating in his country are ''ridiculous.''

''Basically there are two main allegations,'' Danon told ''American Agenda'' Friday afternoon. ''One, they're actually claiming that whoever lived in Jerusalem, in our ancient capital, [is] committing a crime by violating international law,'' which he said is ''ridiculous.''

He added that allegations of war crimes were made ''against our soldiers during an operation when we actually blocked terrorists from entering Israel, which happened in 2014, and we had thousands of terrorists trying to break the border and infiltrate our communities."

"And now they're actually coming after the soldiers who stood in the very territory and blocked the terrorists from entering. We will continue to support our military. And by the way, the ICC tried to come after the military of the U.S. but they backed down. I hope it will be the same case with Israel today.''
