Mideast Expert: Paris Attack an Ideology Venting Its 'Hatred'

By    |   Friday, 09 January 2015 11:44 AM EST

The deadly ambush at the French satirical publication Charlie Hebdo represents the "hate, vengeance and intolerance" that permeate the ideology of Islamic fundamentalism, Middle East commentator Alireza Jafarzadeh said Friday on "America’s Forum" on Newsmax TV.

"It has really nothing to do with some cartoons some magazines have published, it’s really a concerted effort, and it's this ideology that unfortunately has not been contained and has been spreading," he said. "It's not an isolated incident that we’re going to resolve it today in Paris.

"It's the latest in a series of Islamic fundamentalists attacking and expressing their hatred."

The key to Islamic fundamentalists successfully radicalizing would-be jihadists is appealing to the "dissatisfaction that exists in certain societies" and then offering incentives and "the means to do what they plan to do," Jafarzadeh said.

A member of the National Council of Resistance of Iran, Jafarzadeh said Tehran is "heavily involved" in funding and training jihadists.

"You mentioned Iraq, some of those young people are going to Iraq," he told host J.D. Hayworth. "The number-one killer of American forces were those roadside bombs that were built by the Revolutionary Guards shipped across the border.

"All the training and the weapons that went to the Shiite militias that created the unrest in Iraq came from Iran."
