Charles Hurt: Obama's Books Now Contain 'a Guffaw a Page'

Wednesday, 28 May 2014 08:46 PM EDT

Washington Times columnist Charles Hurt says the two books Barack Obama wrote before he became president reveal a litany of broken ideals.

"If you [go] back and pick up 'Audacity of Hope' or 'Dreams of My Father' and thumb through them today . . .  [it's] a guffaw a page,'' Hurt told "The Steve Malzberg Show" on Newsmax TV.

"Every page . . . he's either deriding a president we've already had or he's talking about what needs to be done or he's talking about what he would do if he had the power,'' Hurt said Wednesday.

Hurt said Obama was then elected with an adoring public strictly behind him and with Democrats controlling Congress.

"For a time there, Democrats had a filibuster-proof majority in the Senate. So, it's not like the guy can at any point say, oh, I had opposition. This guy ran the tables."
