President Barack Obama will appear on
"60 Minutes" on Sunday to discuss foreign and domestic issues, CBS News announced Thursday.
The interview will be taped Friday with "60 Minutes" correspondent Steve Kroft, who has interviewed Obama many times before. Kroft was the first to interview Obama after his 2008 election and also talked to him after the killing of Osama bin Laden,
USA Today noted.
It will be the first interview Obama has given since airstrikes began on Islamic State (ISIS) targets in Syria. It also comes one day after Attorney General Eric Holder announced his resignation.
Presidential interviews are rare, but as the November midterms approach, the "60 Minutes" interview is Obama's second in less than a month. On September 7, the president was a guest on the first episode of
"Meet the Press" hosted by Chuck Todd.
