The violence in the Central American countries is so intense that the kids flooding the U.S. border are literally "fleeing for their lives," Democratic strategist Ben Wikler said.
"If you look at where these kids are coming from — Guatemala, Honduras, these are countries right now that are more dangerous than Iraq at the height of the insurgency in 2007," Wikler told J.D. Hayworth on "America's Forum" on
Newsmax TV on Thursday.

"I actually found myself on the same side as Glenn Beck on this thing," the Democratic strategist said, referring to the conservative commentator. "This is a humanitarian crisis that calls out to all of us to treat these kids with compassion and recognize that they are fleeing for their lives."
"America at its best gives people shelter when they are in danger, and that is what we need to be focused on right now," Wikler said.
Republican strategist Alice Stewart told Newsmax that President Barack Obama had "both the House and Senate under Democrat control" when he first took office and he "did absolutely" nothing.
