Politics should not have a role in the appointment of the U.S. Attorney General, according to Jonathan Gilliam, a former Navy SEAL and FBI agent.
"I don't think the head of the Department of Justice should even be appointed by politicians," Gilliam, president of U.S. Continued Service, LLC, said Monday on "The Steve Malzberg Show" on
Newsmax TV.
"It should be somebody that should come out of the ranks through a promotion process.
"Unfortunately, that position has become political because they've realized how strong that is and how much they can change. I disagree with that and Eric Holder is a good example of how that road is a bad road."
