New York Times sports columnist George Vescey says the new lawsuit New York Yankees star Alex Rodriguez has filed against Major League Baseball does not address his alleged use of performance-enhancing drugs.
"What he’s not saying is whether he did it or didn't do it and that may not even be the point," Vescey told "The Steve Malzberg Show" on Newsmax TV.
"It seems to me that Major League Baseball … [is] really going after him for some kind of obstruction of justice ...
"Going back to Pete Rose [the player and manager who eventually admitted to gambling on games], that's what bothered [MLB Commissioner] Bartlett Giamatti the most, was that Rose stonewalled him, that they spent a year just trying to prove, rather than say, 'Pete, we know you did.'"
