Renowned Harvard Law professor Alan Dershowitz tells Newsmax TV he's impressed by the decency and intelligence of Rand Paul — but believes the freshman Kentucky senator should stay put for now.
"Rand Paul is a very bright guy. He has some extreme views, particularly on American foreign policy. He's been trying to bring those views into the center a little bit more," Dershowitz said Tuesday on the "Steve Malzberg Show" on
Newsmax TV.

"He strikes me as a decent, intelligent man who ought to remain in the United States Senate where he's doing a good job."
Asked by Malzberg if Paul — who announced he is seeking the 2016 Republican nomination for president — is in over his head, Dershowitz said:
"I think so. All of these young guys who decided [after being] senator for one term, it's time to run for president — and I include within that President [Barack] Obama. He would have been a much better president if he had served a couple of terms in the Senate.
"We elect our presidents sometimes too young, too inexperienced. There is some virtue in accumulating experience and a little wisdom and maybe a couple of gray hairs.
"You get the gray hairs when you're president. Obama's hair has turned very gray over the last six years."
