Republicans are a shoo-in to retake the Senate next week — but the Democrats do have a slim chance of upsetting the apple cart, says A.B. Stoddard, associate editor of The Hill.
"Republicans are going to take the Senate," Stoddard said Friday on "The Steve Malzberg Show" on
Newsmax TV.
"But if Democrats manage to get their voters out — which none of us think that they will because they come out in presidential years and not in midterm years — and they actually end up holding on...."

Such a scenario would be "devastating" for the GOP because "it’s much harder for Republicans to take the Senate back in 2016, the numbers are really against them," Stoddard said.
"Even if they win a majority this year, they could lose it two years from now. There’s a lot of work to be done. This is the Republican’s best shot though, they’re going to pick up between six and 10 seats."
