The younger brother of accused Florida high school shooter, Nikolas Cruz, has been arrested and charged with probation violation, the SunSentinel is reporting.
Zachary Cruz, 18, was booked into the Palm Beach County jail on Tuesday night, according to the newspaper. His brother Nikolas is in jail in neighboring Broward County, charged with the shooting deaths of 17 people at Marjory Stoneman Douglas in Parkland, Florida.
Zachary Cruz had been placed on probation for six months after trespassing at Douglas high. He had admitted to sheriff’s deputies that he had been to the high school three times since the shootings. As part of his probation, he was ordered to stay at least a mile away from the school and any others unless he was enrolled, the Sentinel said.
The newspaper, citing a warrant, said Zachary Cruz is accused of driving an SUV on April 28 without a valid driver’s license and for going within 25 feet of a parking lot at Park Vista Community High School in Lake Worth, Florida.
Meanwhile, Nikolas Cruz faces the death penalty for the shooting spree.
