The brother of accused Florida high school shooter, Nikolas Cruz, was released from jail after he admitted to driving without a license, the SunSentinel is reporting.
The newspaper said Broward County prosecutors admitted there was not enough evidence that Zachary Cruz had violated his earlier probation by getting too close to a school over the weekend.
But Broward County Judge Melinda Brown warned him: "They are watching you."
Zachary Cruz had been placed on probation for six months after trespassing at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida. The school was the scene of 17 murders in February. His older brother, Nikolas Cruz, has been charged with the slayings.
Zachary Cruz has admitted to sheriff's deputies that he had been to the high school three times since the shootings. As part of his probation, he had been ordered to stay at least a mile away from the school and any others unless he was enrolled.
Before he was released, Judge Brown said in the future driving without a license will be considered violation of probation and could put him behind bars for two months.
