Preet Bharara, the former U.S. attorney fired by President Donald Trump, sent out a tweet over the weekend mocking Trump's wiretapping claims.

The sarcastic tweet, which included a link to a Wall Street Journal article headlined "Former employees of Donald Trump say he sometimes taped phone conversations in Trump Tower," came in response to a tweet the president sent out on Friday saying that fired FBI Director James Comey "better hope that there are no ‘tapes’ of our conversations before he starts leaking to the press!"

Bharara’s tweet was also referring to Trump’s unsubstantiated accusations earlier this year that the Obama administration wire-tapped Trump Tower during the presidential election.

Immediately after Trump fired Comey, Bharara sent out a tweet harshly criticizing the president.

As more details were revealed about the controversial move, Bharara continued to express his disapproval in a series of tweets throughout the week.
