Morning gab-show queen Wendy Williams is divorcing her husband of nearly 22 years, Kevin Hunter.
The New York Post reported Williams, who lives in Livingston, N.J., served papers to Hunter, the executive producer of “The Wendy Williams Show,” at 6:30 a.m. Thursday.
The Post, citing court documents, reported the couple, who have a 19-year-old son, are splitting because of “irreconcilable differences,” and that Williams wants an “appropriate amount of child support” as well as “other further relief as the Court deems fair and equitable.”
“Thank you to everyone for respecting the family’s privacy during this time,” a representative for Williams told the news outlet in a statement. “Kevin is supportive of Wendy and they are working through this process together.”
The split comes amid rumors Hunter has been cheating on Williams with a woman named Sharina Hudson, who had a baby last month.
But infidelity gossip has persisted for a few years, the Post reported, citing unnamed sources who claimed Hunter’s allegedly abusive behavior ultimately led to the unraveling that prompted Williams to have an addiction relapse.
Williams announced last month she was living in a sober house, and following a two-month break, was back on the show March 4 – declaring “marriage isn’t easy,” but insisting her wedding ring was firmly affixed to her finger, and that “it ain't going anywhere, not in this lifetime."
