Tainted former Congressman Anthony Weiner confirmed he was being investigated by the New York City Administration for Children's Services for sending a woman an inappropriate photo of himself, The New York Times reports.
Weiner sent a selfie of him on a bed in his underwear with his 4-year-old son, Jordan, lying next to him, according to reports. He also sent her "sexually charged messages' over social media.
Revelations of his behavior prompted his wife, Huma Abedin, a top aide to Democratic Party presidential nominee Hillary Clinton, to announce Monday that they were separating.
It was reported Wednesday that the child welfare agency was looking into the matter but Weiner at that time said he had not been contacted.
He told the Times that the agency had left a note about the investigation at his mother's house.
The question about the letter being sent to his mother's residence rather than to him directly left him perplexed.
"Crazy if you ask me," he told the newspaper, adding that he had gotten in touch with the agency to get more information.
Weiner, a Democrat, was caught in two other sexting scandals in 2011 and 2013, which ended his bid to be mayor of New York City and put a halt to his congressional career.
