Pope Francis will speak at a climate change conference at Vatican City next week as he pushes to inspire more action on the subject.
Axios reported Thursday the July 5-6 event is called Saving Our Common Home and the Future of Life on Earth and will feature several officials with a stake in the climate change debate.
The Pope will address the event July 6, the website reported.
Among the attendees are current and former United Nations officials tied in with the body's climate change activities, environmental activists, climate researchers, and officials from the Catholic Church.
Pope Francis has been outspoken about his concerns for the environment and how he feels humans are negatively impacting the Earth.
According to Axios, next week's event is designed as a preview of sorts for other upcoming climate change summits in California and Poland, along with the International Monetary Fund-World Bank meeting that will take place in Bali.
Pope Francis met with oil executives June 9 from around the world and discussed their industry's impact on climate change.
