US, Panama Agree to Curb Migration Through Treacherous Darien Gap

The United States and Panama signed a memorandum of understanding aimed at closing the heavily trafficked Darien Gap to migrants who enter Panama illegally, Panama's government said in a statement on Monday.

According to the statement, the United States agreed to cover the costs of repatriating migrants who illegally enter through the Darien Gap.
