President Donald Trump’s visit to the United Kingdom next month is expected to be chaotic, with massive protests being planned for his visit as well as a strike by employees of the London Underground subway system.
Tens of thousands of demonstrators plan to march through the streets of London as Trump jets into the British capital on July 13.
And a four-day strike by drivers of the underground railway to protest working conditions already will be in progress from July 11-14, disrupting the city’s major public transit system, including travel to and from Heathrow International Airport.
A statement from the drivers’ union obtained by the Evening Standard says members are striking to protest “a series of attacks on working conditions and staffing levels that have turned the line into a pressure cooker."
Along with the picketers and the striking transit workers, a large security detail will be in force during Trump’s visit.
Trump's itinerary will include a meeting with British Prime Minister Theresa May, and possibly a visit with Queen Elizabeth II.
