A record-breaking 82 firearms were discovered last week by the Transportation Security Administration.

The weapons were found in carry-on bags from May 15-21. Sixty-six of the guns were loaded, according to the TSA.

The previous record of 81 firearms was set in August of 2016 and tied in March of 2017, the TSA noted.

"Firearm possession laws vary by state and locality," said a statement from TSA.

"Travelers bringing firearms to the checkpoint can be arrested and fined up to $11,000. Travelers should familiarize themselves with state and local firearm laws for each point of travel prior to departure."
