President Donald Trump on Tuesday wrote on Twitter that he wants members of his administration to testify at impeachment hearings, even though the White House has ordered those officials not to do so, Politico reported.

Trump’s remarks followed a federal judge's ruling on Monday that former White House counsel Don McGahn must appear before the House Judiciary Committee, with the judge writing that that the president’s contention that top advisers are immune from obeying a congressional subpoena to testfy “has no basis in the law,” according to The Hill.

“The D.C. Wolves and Fake News Media are reading far too much into people being forced by Courts to testify before Congress,” Trump wrote in a tweet. “I am fighting for future Presidents and the Office of the President. Other than that, I would actually like people to testify.”

The president added in a continuation of his tweet that former national security adviser "John Bolton is a patriot and may know that I held back the money from Ukraine because it is considered a corrupt country.”

Trump continued on Twitter, writing that "Likewise, I would love to have Mike Pompeo, Rick Perry, Mick Mulvaney and many others testify about the phony Impeachment Hoax. It is a Democrat Scam that is going nowhere but, future Presidents should in no way be compromised. What has happened to me should never happen to another President!"
