Eric Trump urged Republicans to get to the polls and vote in an effort to keep control of Congress.
“I think we are going to do well,” the president’s son said Thursday on television’s “Fox & Friends.” “Republicans have to get out and vote. It’s just that simple.”
He said some Republicans are reluctant to vote since the president is not on the ballot.
“We need the House," he said. "We need the Senate. (My father) has gotten more accomplished in the last two years than arguably any president in history. This country is doing so well on every front. People have to get out. People have to vote."
He said those who do not vote in the midterms are effectively voting against his father. He maintained there are a lot of good candidates on the ballot and said Congress needs more people with backbone.
“You saw what happened a couple of weeks ago,” he said in apparent reference to the tumultuous confirmation hearings on Brett Kavanaugh.
“You need some great people in there. There are so many tight races. People have to vote.”
