President Donald Trump and Boeing have reached an informal $3.9 billion deal to build two new Air Force One planes, Fox News is reporting.
"President Trump has reached an informal deal with Boeing on a fixed price contract for the new Air Force One Program. Thanks to the president’s negotiations, the contract will save the taxpayers more than $1.4 billion," White House deputy press secretary Hogan Gidley told Fox.
The current Air Force One models are from the Reagan era.
Trump had been complaining about the high cost of building new planes since shortly after winning the presidency.
Trump hammered out the deal with Boeing CEO Dennis Muilenburg last week at the White House, Fox Business reports.
