Toronto’s bad boy Mayor Rob Ford is loving life in rehab but can’t wait to get back to his city to begin his campaign for the next election.
"I feel great," Ford told
The Toronto Sun. "Rehab is amazing. It reminds me of football camp, kind of like the Washington Redskins camp I went to as a kid."
Calling it the "best decision" he’d ever made, he added, "I am working out every day, and I’m learning about myself, my past and things like that."
The scandal-plagued official, who has not revealed the clinic where he’s staying, said that he’s continued to work while being treated, and he vowed that he’ll be back fighting fit in time for the mayoral election in October.
"I asked for my call sheets, and I’m making calls to constituents. I am getting help, but I still want to help.
"I will be on the ballot for mayor guaranteed, and there will be no need to change the locks. There will be no need to clean out my desk, because I am coming back."
Ford, who has admitted smoking crack cocaine, also blamed alcohol for all of his problems.
"I think alcohol is the worst kind of drug. It makes you do things you would never do and say this you would never say."
