Rep. Steve King, R-Iowa, said Thursday that Republicans calling on Senate candidate Roy Moore to drop out of the race "won't or can't help move" President Donald Trump's agenda.

The Washington Post released a report on Thursday, in which multiple women accuse the Alabama Republican of sexual misconduct, including one woman who claims that Moore initiated a sexual encounter with her when she was 14 and he 32. Moore denied these claims as "a desperate political attack by the National Democrat Party and the Washington Post."

King tweeted Thursday night:

His tweet includes a link to a Breitbart article listing the Republican senators who have condemned Moore and called for him to end his campaign, including Arizona Republican Sens. John McCain and Jeff Flake, and Maine Republican Sen. Susan Collins.

Alabama Secretary of State John Merrill told CNN Thursday night that Moore will "not be removed from the ballot, but then again there's a number of other things that will follow a protocol if the party take that permanent step and if they do, we will adhere to their request and we will honor their request as we should by law, and then we'll make sure that the proper adjudication of the process is adhered to as the election continues."
