Stephen Moore: China's 'in a Lot of Trouble Right Now'

As the American economy rages and the coronavirus ravages China, "China is in a lot of trouble right now," according to economist Stephen Moore.

"I've talked to a number of businessmen and women," Moore told Sunday's "The Cats Roundtable" on 970 AM-N.Y., "who are saying, 'I've got to reconsider China.'"

"Maybe it isn't such a bargain to be over there. Maybe they are not reliable in the block chain.

"And so you're seeing these factories move to Vietnam and Thailand and Taiwan and India. So, I think China is in a lot of trouble right now."

Contrasting China's struggles with the hit of the coronavirus, Moore pointed to remarkable confidence of Americans in the latest Gallup poll.

"This is about the best week I can remember for Donald Trump – every time I don't think it can get better, it does," Moore added to host John Catsimatidis.

"The question that's been asked for 50 years — how do you feel about your own personal finances and are you optimistic about your own future? — 90% said 'pretty happy' or 'very happy' with their life," Moore added later.

"I have never seen a number like that before. People feel good about their own direction, and they feel good about the direction of the entire country."
