North Korea is not interested in meeting with the United States at the Winter Olympics this weekend.

South Korea's Yonhap News Agency reported Wednesday the delegation led by the sister of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un will not sit down with the American delegation, which will include Vice President Mike Pence.

"We have never begged for dialogue with the U.S. and will be the same in the future," a director of North Korea's foreign minister said, according to Yonhap.

"We clearly state that we don't have a willingness to meet with the U.S. side during our visit to South Korea."

Before Pence departed for the region this week, he said a meeting with North Korea has not been set up, but the Trump administration is open to talking things over with the rogue nation.

North and South Korea have met several times this year along the DMZ.

North Korea is pursuing a nuclear arsenal, something the international community is against. The U.N. Security Council passed additional sanctions on the reclusive country in December.
