Megyn Kelly: 'Lots of Second-Guessing in Reporting on Sony'

Fox News host Megyn Kelly says she second-guessed herself after reporting on racially tinged comments made about President Barack Obama by Sony Pictures executives.

Kelly was a guest on "Jimmy Kimmel Live" on Wednesday and said that while some of the leaked emails concerning celebrities weren’t of interest to her, the comments about Obama by studio co-chairman Amy Pascal and producer Scott Rudin were.

"As soon as I reported it I thought, I don’t know if I did the right thing because I don’t know if we should be dining on the carcass of someone’s dead privacy rights."

She noted that even reporting on secretly recorded racist comments by former LA Lakers owner Donald Sterling "felt a little weird and uncomfortable."

Fox News and CNN reported Wednesday that it had confirmed that the North Korean government had ordered the hack on Sony Pictures’ computers over the impending release of "The Interview," a comedy about a CIA plot to assassinate North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un.

But Kelly said that the American public should "act with their pocketbooks" and buy the movie on DVD to make a statement that North Korea cannot dictate free speech in the United States.

Sony announced Wednesday it would not release the movie as scheduled on Christmas Day after the hacker group said there would be terror attacks on any theater that shows it.

"They’ve got to release it in some fashion so the American people can have the final say on this," Kelly said.
