Sirius XM said Tuesday that Steve Bannon will no longer host any programs on the satellite radio network after he resigned as executive chairman at Breitbart News.

Sirius, based in New York, posted on Twitter:

Bannon, who was fired last August as White House chief strategist, resigned from Breitbart on Tuesday over his scathing remarks about President Donald Trump and Donald Trump Jr. in Michael Wolff's book, "Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House."

The New York Times reported Bannon was pressured to quit because of his financial patron, Rebekah Mercer.

Breitbart announced Bannon's departure on its website.
