Spicer: I'll 'Proudly Play Any Role' if Pence Runs for President

Outgoing White House press secretary Sean Spicer says he would gladly work for Mike Pence should the vice president launch a presidential bid.

Spicer's comments came in a tweet Sunday night:

When and if @mike_pence runs in 2024 I would proudly play any role he asks Good to know you have already conceded that https://t.co/cHMSKHM07e

His tweet appeared to be in response to Rep. Maxine Waters, D-Calif., who had earlier posted on Twitter:

Mike Pence is somewhere planning an inauguration. Priebus and Spicer will lead the transition.

Politico reported Waters' tweet jabbed at Spicer and recently ousted former White House Chief of Staff Reince Priebus.

Spicer resigned earlier this month, but has agreed to stay on with the administration through part of August, according to Politico.
